Things to Know
- Power outages are common in rural areas, especially during monsoons. There is a diesel generator which will power all appliances. The generator will require a cooldown of 30 minutes between runs of 3 hours to avoid breakdown.
- The nearest market is in Maale, which is a 30-45 minute drive. No last-minute arrangements for food are possible. We advise guests to carry necessary items from the city and inform us of required meals 24 hours in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
- There is no network for any service providers, but we have provided a signal booster in the common lounge area. The network may rarely get affected from the network towers, which will cause the booster to not give any signal.
- Wifi is provided with up to 10 Mbps speed. Wifi outages may happen due to extreme weather, and the fix for it will depend upon the service provider, which is out of our control.
- The artificial reservoirs during the rains are deep, and surroundings are slippery. Guests must exercise extreme caution while around these areas. They should take care of their own kids or pets around such areas as they are unguarded.
- Food will not be served in the cottage; guests will have to come to the dining area.
- The retreat is in a natural area with a dense forest, so expect to encounter bugs and insects. Post sunset, a lot of moths and insects may enter the house if doors are kept open. You must keep windows and doors closed or use bug screens provided to avoid insects entering inside.
- Swimming in the reservoirs can be dangerous during rapid water flow, even for advanced swimmers. Please refrain from swimming or entering the water when the flow is strong. You will solely be responsible for mishaps, damages, or loss.
- You can safely enter the water for a swim or dip when the water is steady and shallow.
- Surroundings can become slippery, so please observe caution while walking barefoot and use shoes with good grip outdoors. Avoid venturing out in dark areas with no lights. Please be aware of your surroundings.
- Avoid roaming in dense forest areas at night without proper lighting. The forest can be difficult to navigate in the dark, and it is important to ensure your safety by staying within well-lit areas.
